6 Critical Pain Points in Industrial Sensor Networks
Engineers face significant challenges when deploying and maintaining traditional sensor networks. These issues lead to increased downtime, higher costs, and reduced operational efficiency.
Complex Multi-Vendor Integration
Connecting sensors from multiple manufacturers requires proprietary protocols and custom configurations for each device type.
Limited Diagnostic Visibility
Traditional sensors provide no fault diagnostics or predictive maintenance data. Problems discovered only after failure.
Device Replacement Complexity
Manual parameter reconfiguration required after every sensor replacement. No automatic device recognition or setup.
Protocol Lock-in
Proprietary field bus protocols create vendor dependency. Switching systems requires complete infrastructure overhaul.
Wiring Complexity
Different cable types and pinouts for various sensor models. Installation requires detailed wiring diagrams.
No Real-Time Monitoring
Sensor status visible only through manual inspection or PLC programming. No centralized monitoring dashboard.
